Inherit The Earth

Geek A person who is single-minded or accomplished in scientific or technical pursuits but is felt to be socially inept.

So why should they inherit the earth? Well that's elementary, dear Watson. If the Geeks are so incredibly single-minded, they will put themselves to anything that is put before them if it is remotely challenging, if only for the pursuit of science!

Zombie apocalypse? Training for this since day one.
Atom-bombs? As long as the power isn't out for too long
Outbreak of a terrible virus? Social ineptness for the win

See? It's all covered. Of course if the earth explodes in a fiery ball of doom, that might pose a small problem in the matter.

I'm not a geek for writing this, am I?

Well, since the geeks are not a majority, I'd say that being 'socially inept' is based on the norm of the majority.

what category of norms are you referring to? do you believe that in non muslim countries, muslims are socially inept because they are not acting in accordance with the norms of the majority? (not going for being offensive, simply seeking clarification based upon your definitions)

The norm is based on your environment. It's complicated, as a Muslim in another country (or us in theirs) can be socially inept based on the differing norms.

There is such a thing as 'geek culture' and a non-geek would stand out like Big Bird in a crowd. The magical thing named the 'norm' is not a fixed ideal. It's based on the culture around it, and the people around it. *wonders for a moment if Muslim geeks would have a different culture*

Is social awkwardness make you a geek or do other things make you a geek? Because I have been called a geek many times yet social awkwardness is not a thing I know well. Depends on the person I guess. If they don't do nothing but stay in their basements then that is really their fault. I know many 'geeks' who are very very sociable.

Nah, the geekiness is a state of mind. Curiosity, sciency things and so on. The social awkwardness is more of a side-effect.
