Chapter 38Where Drama Ensues

The pub was quite busy at this hour, filling up with all kinds of people and sounds. Probably even some tourists as I heard shards of non-english conversations. Most of which I was unable to even begin to place.

"I'm going to the little girls room." I heard Valerie say. She kind of winked at me when Hitori was looking around the pub. I guess she gave me space to do what I wanted.

"She must be a good friend." Hitori said, smiling.

I was surprised. "Why?"

"Because she seems to care for you."

I smiled. "Thanks I guess."

Hitori looked a bit fiddly. "You know... "

"Yes?"

"I did like that kiss last night, despite the weird accident." He blushed. I had to smile.

"So did I."

He moved forward and before I even truly realized it his lips touched mine. It felt just as nice as last night, better even. His warmth, the softness of his lips and the sweet taste of his saliva. I kissed him back intensely and it only seemed to take a moment before both of us opened them and allowed our tongues to touch the other.

Time slowed down to a crawl so easily. The whole pub almost forgotten with only my subconscious mind registering all that still happened. I kissed him and kept on kissing him. My hands held his face as the most dear gift.

But instinct took over.

I kissed on the side of his lips, his cheek and below his ear. And in his neck again, softly kissing his subtle scar before I bit. I pierced his skin and felt the blood flow into me.

I took it slow, letting his heart push the blood in my throat slowly. Each heartbeat a wave of wild, feral pleasure as the craving was quenched. His blood filled me, warmed me and carried me. And this time I felt the moment come. The peak with which I should stop. The high we must never take.

I cut my tongue and let a drop of my blood flow on his wound, letting it heal so no further blood would flow. I gave him a final kiss on his closed wound and another on his cheek.

A final kiss on his lips endured a little longer but I could almost feel how he was drained, tired, slightly lightheaded as if he had too much to drink. But he didn't even finish his first beer yet.

Valerie whispered something I couldn't completely hear, but it was more or less a mention of her return, giving me time to fix my composure. As far as I had any normally. So I sat back slowly, with Hitori still blinking a little but sitting back as well. He finished his beer a little hazily as if he was caught in thought.

He looked up, still a little hazily but he got a grip on himself. "You know, I'm actually quite tired. I'd like to go home. If you want you could walk with me and see where it is."

Valerie looked at him with an expression of intense surprise on her face. "I'm impressed." She said softly.

I think he didn't even hear it, but I wondered what it was. "Valerie, will you pay today?"

Valerie nodded and headed over to pay. We got up and started walking outside. He really got a grip on himself and was walking almost as steadily as he normally did. Only people paying close attention would guess he was feeling this tired. It kind of made me proud.

Valerie returned swiftly and we started walking. "Are you sure you're alright?" I asked, worried slightly because I did know why he felt this way.

"I'm sure I'll be fine, I've just had a long day, that's all." He smiled bravely and lead us to his house.

It really was very close, just a few minutes walk two blocks further and there was a large apartment building.

"Number 44, here we are." Hitori smiled and opened the door. "I'm sorry but I'm really tired. Will I see you again Wednesday, Amy?"

I nodded. "I'll be here as early as I can, but it will probably be right after sunset."

"That's alright. I'm looking forward to it. Have a fun night!"

"Sleep well!" Valerie and I both waved as he went in and closed the door.

Valerie looked thoughtful. "You know, there is something about that guy... I don't know. Usually people don't have that much self-control." She paused. "And... There is something else."

I frowned and looked at her. "Like what?"

She shrugged. "I don't know. I guess we'll know later. At least I got some to drink as well. A nice guy near the toilets was waiting and willing." She smirked.

Her suddenness surprised me but I guessed it was just her way. "So... Shall we go to Isabel?" I offered?

"Yeah, I hope she didn't run away though." Valerie sounded ill at ease but I guess that was to be expected.

I dramatically added. "I just hope we're ready."
