Chapter 154A Dress that Fits

We left the club, a strong blush still on my cheeks from his words. Hitori was still smiling and looking at me with admiration. Nuru kept a smile on her face though she appeared slightly uncomfortable in her clothes. But we were soon to fix that. The next thing on the list was all for her, a clothing store.

That proved to be a problem... Kind of.

We tried to ask her while we were walking through a street, lined with stores. "Nuru, what kind of clothes would you like?"

Nuru hesitated in her step. "I-I'm not sure. I've never really thought about it."

I frowned. "Do you like what you're wearing?"

Nuru looked at her top. "It's a bit tight, but it's fine otherwise."

Hitori grinned. "Yes, we can see that."

Nuru blushed. I wasn't sure how to ask it. "Did you like the dress from Faith?"

She nodded. "Yes, it was nice."

I sighed. "Which style did you like more?"

She shrugged. "They're both nice, but the dress fit better."

How could I possibly solve this. She didn't seem to have a preference for clothes that she knew of. Of course it was clear as day she wanted something that fit better. But that didn't say anything of taste, color. I turned to Hitori, feeling his thoughts a little as well. He shrugged, unsure of what to do either.

Hitori smiled. "Nuru, if you look around... " The street was very busy with people doing shopping in the evening. "... do you see anything you like?"

Nuru looked around with a serious look on her face, set to find what she liked. It was very cute to see her handle this like research. Comparing what she sees and trying to learn as quickly as she could. But her expression changed from dedication to wonder as she really started to look at all the kinds of clothing around her. Her eyes darted from person to person, male and female alike, to look at their clothing and decide what she likes.

Suddenly she smiled. "I like what she wears."

I tried to find the person she was looking at, a girl standing with friends in front of a store. It wasn't bad actually. All of them had elegant modern clothing, most of them in autumn green and brown shades. Most of them were, surprisingly, in a long skirt that suited well with their style. Nuru's choice surprised me.

Hitori smiled. "Alright, then we'll go into that store." He pointed to a semi-expensive store across the street.

We crossed the street and went into the store. It was a big store but very nicely decorated. All kinds of mannequins with dresses and skirts in soft autumn colors and rows upon rows of clothes. I didn't expect this store to be this big. The full length mirrors on both walls made the store look even bigger.

A cutely dressed store-girl came our way. And it truly was a girl, even though her small glasses made her look more distinguished and somewhat older. She didn't look much older than we were.

"Can I help you?" Her voice was pleasant and kind.

Hitori stepped in. "Yes, my friend has lost her clothes and isn't really sure about her sizes. We need a few full sets of clothes and she likes the soft green autumn colors you've got around here. Could you suggest some things for her and perhaps take her measurements?"

The girl blinked a few times but them smiled. A challenge. "Of course, right this way please."

Nuru followed her while me and Hitori looked at some dresses in the racks. They were quite detailed, some of them, and very durable as far as I could tell. The style was not something I'd mind wearing, in fact. Not something I'd choose for myself though.

"Look at this." Hitori held up a really beautiful soft green dress with gold stitching. A simple leaf pattern graced the hem of the skirt and the sleeves. It even looked the right size for Nuru, as far as we could tell. Hopefully there were other sizes available.

The girl returned with Nuru, holding her by her arm and smiling kindly. "She's got a great body for the dresses here, I don't think it will be any problem to find something."

Hitori held up the dress we found. "Is this the right size?"

The girl walked to Hitori and checked the size in the collar. "A little too small, I think I have one a size bigger." She looked between the other dresses and found the one we had, but, presumably, one size bigger. She looked at it carefully, her eyes darting from the dress to Nuru and back.

"This needs something." She was really getting into it and she quickly walked to another part of the store to retrieve some underwear. She didn't take long, but she soon had a bra that fit nicely with the dress. She looked at it again and got a little golden necklace from behind the counter.

"I usually don't do this, but I'm dying to see how she looks in this." She handed the clothes to Nuru and nodded to one of the changing rooms.

Nuru held it as if it was treasure.

I smiled. "Go on, change into it and let us see how it looks on you."

She nodded happily, almost like a child, walked into the changing room and closed the thick curtain behind her quickly. There was some rustling behind the curtain and I looked fascinated at the girl. She was smiling faintly, there were no other customers coming in so she was happy to give all her attention to us. In fact she appeared to be enjoying herself quite a bit.

Nuru opened the curtain.

Now I understood why the girl had given her that golden necklace. It was a beautiful finish to the dress and herself. She looked incredible in the dress, like a young girl from an autumn fairy-tale. The dress fit her as if it was made for her. She made a little dance on her bare feet and it was an amazing sight to see the dress follow her movements.

And best of all...

She looked happy.
