Page 97A final lick

The both of them looked at me with a little bit of surprise but smiled. Grace in particular had a sweet expression on her face, almost as if she was thankful for the experience I'd given her the day before. The both of them hugged me in one big hug and smiled at me.

However, Anka was not entirely sure. "Are you going to visit Hitori?"

I nodded. "Yes, but I'm not planning to stay there. But I owe him at least a visit."

She smiled. "He'd like that."

"I'm not sure how to get there though."

Anka shrugged. "Night bus?"

I felt stupid, I hadn't even thought of that. It would have been an easier solution than going about stealing cars and stuff. There were practically no checks on them, and if they'd make it...

Grace however, interrupted. "They're too slow, she'd never arrive before daybreak. But I have an idea." She ran back inside.

I smiled. "What is she up to?"

Anka shrugged. "No idea, she's surprisingly resourceful though. She managed to get very good incense for the basement. It's not too strong while still a good incentive for our craft." She opened the door to let me in.

"Anka, that was horrible."

She giggled a little bit. "I know. Is that everything you have?"

I nodded. "Yes, though the house is still payed for for a while. The police stepped by last night though. Got an anonymous tip."

Anka looked around as she opened the door to the basement. "How do you know?"

I smiled back. "They were babbling to each other. I arrived just after they did, I think. Quite the chatty pair."

Anka frowned for a moment. "Wait, female cops?"

"How did you guess?"

Anka giggled. "Oh, babbling, chatty pair. Either they were very gay or just women. The latter felt slightly more probable for cops."

I struck a pose and tried to sound very homosexual. "Oh, well don't underestimate the uniform, honey."

Anka's expression was priceless. It wasn't that the she found it that funny, but to hear and semi-see me doing it was almost a shock to her. She stifled a giggle before she turned around again and headed down. We could hear Grace talking on the phone and waited.

"Great, tomorrow at ten then, at... No, not my house, just get to Anka's. Yeah I know you're sad about that... Okay, will you? Thanks."

Anka poked her. "So was that?"

Grace. "It was Max, the comic book guy. He often goes to Armedius to buy in some comics and often drives at night so he has more time during the day, at least that's what he says."

Anka frowned. "Is that the guy with...?"

Grace nodded. "Yes, that one."

I smiled, this was a part of life I'd never really had. Just friends talking about friends. I didn't need to know who Max really was, or what he does. He didn't need to know who I was either. He'd bring a girl along just because Anka asked, it seems. Just knowing they had friends, a life, made me smile. I wasn't sure why, but it felt like a slice of normality. A hint of life.

That was probably why, but I wasn't sure.

Anka looked at me. "So you wanted to sleep here tonight?"

But before I could answer, Grace jumped me. "Slumber party!"

I giggled. "If I could."

Anka winked. "I don't think Grace will let you leave."

I smiled back. "I think you're right."

Grace just smiled, poked Anka in her side and calmed down. "Here in the basement then? I can get the mattresses down and I think down here is the darkest place if we close the curtains. Also, Amy, do you need pyjamas?"

That was an... interesting question. "Eh, I think so."

She just nodded and headed upstairs. I looked at her disappearing form and put down the bag I had over my shoulder and also removed my small backpack. Anka moved some things aside, asking my help with some of them, but kept the circle intact. It didn't take much effort, two mattresses would easily be enough for the three of us, and there was plenty of space once we moved the sofa closer to the desk. It made it the most original thing I'd ever seen though. Like a witch's slumber party.

Grace took her time with the mattresses, but did manage to bring down pyjamas for all of us. We helped once she was through the door with the two large rectangles encompassing this little girl. It was Hilarius with the three of us, we pulled and almost got her stuck between one of the bookcases, the stairs and the mattresses themselves. It wasn't entirely an accident.

The rest of the evening was pure silliness. I never expected it to go this way. We never really talked about witchcraft that night, or Vampirism. It was just girly stuff. Grace wanted to know everything I'd done with Esmeralda and especially liked how I'd 'found' her with Emily. Of course Grace knew about her. It seemed Grace got around quite a lot, figuratively. She knew quite a lot of people and I found out that it was her that found Anka, not the other way around. It surprised me a little.

They allowed me to write my diary while the two of them were giggling feverishly. It was a little distracting. Especially when the both of them started to lick my feet. Now, while that may sound very erotic and exciting. There is almost nothing as tickling as people licking the bottom of your feet, even more so when to of them are doing it at the same time, just soft enough for me to keep writing, but also hard enough to make it very annoying.

But that's all part of the game.

No one makes the rules, everyone follows them.

The night was over all too quickly.

But what a fun night it was.
