Chapter 75Of Blushes and Bites

Morning came peacefully. When I woke up I did feel a lot better and not at all plagued by little girls. Just by a big one. Well, not so much plagued as being pleasantly cuddled. I felt Deirdre's skin against mine when I woke up, a very pleasant feeling. In fact, I would have liked to lay there for a while, not waking her.

"Good morning, Taran."

But of course she was already awake. "Hey. Thank you for keeping me company."

She smiled. "I know what we're going to do today."

I frowned. "What?"

"The City council."

That was a good idea. The city council would probably not be part of all of this. Of course we all considered them to be lazy people who were just in it to get more gold and power. But they must realize as well that a war with the forest creatures would hold only downsides to them. It wouldn't be easy though. If they were in it for power there was a way.

"Good idea. But they won't listen to us easily."

Deirdre smirked. "Oh, but I have a plan."

I looked at her curiously. "Like what?"

"Well, I'm kind of a highborn as well. A dress and some help with my hair and they would listen."

"Not bad, but would they listen to a woman?"

"I don't see... Oh wait... I do see what you mean."

I nodded. Unfortunately, evolved though we were, women were still not found a lot in high positions. The Masters were (with no exceptions that I knew of) all men above a certain level. I hadn't visited the city council. But I would be surprised if things were that different there.

Now that I thought about it, it was kind of funny to see how women dominated among the forest spirits. Though it might be said that they weren't real women. Something a simple sighting would disprove easily of course. I blushed in my remembrance of both Maeve and Eavan's beautiful bodies. Bodies they were not afraid to show.

"Taran, what are you thinking about?"

Uh oh. Caught blush-handed. "Eh. nothing."

"Come on, tell me."

"I was thinking about how in the forest, women appear to be ruling as opposed to us."

"And you followed that thought to Maeve and Eavan nude?"

I blushed some more. "Yes."

She poked me softly in my side. "They can have quite the impact. Come, let's get up."

We did as she told and got dressed and ready for the day. It was easy to just get some bread downstairs. I had no orders from the masters for the day, just to be back in the evening. That should give us plenty of time to get tow the City Council somehow.

We were lucky. There was a big breakfast table set out, from which we were free to take some cups of warm tea, bread and some meat. We ate outside, as well as numerous others, and finished our meal. We looked at the stables, but there wasn't much going on there so we decided to go out of the gates.
