FramedWhile I know they eventually yield

...

While I know they eventually yield
For me they were often a shield
A small layer between
The things that I've seen
And my thoughts that I kept safely sealed

As it's more than a focus to see
A distinct, special part of me
A clean nerdy frame
Was part of my fame
Until they were no more to be

For me it was time to get wise
As I let some cool lasers fix eyes
The healing took long
And it sometimes felt wrong
I just had to drop the disguise

Still, be glad of the glasses you wear
Even if they can cause some despair
They are part of your style
Will be there for a while
So wear them with pride and with flair
