Darkness envelops, lights of the street, sounds roaming of the autumn clear
The wild rustling leaves, branches that sweep, gladly snapping some twigs in cheer
Prelude to winter, after the sun, everything fading towards browns
Birds that were passing, high overhead, leaving behind nests full of downs
Rain subtly falling, no rush after all, giving the world a gentle sheen
Air more refreshing, details so small, filling the gaps in the whole scene
Nearly arriving, the glow of inside, a welcoming hearth burning bright
But still enjoying, the world open wide, the contrast of darkness and light
