It took me a few moments to get the whole picture clear. Anka had taken the book and peripherals of Witchery. And, considering the place we found it, it's likely to be real as well. Anka had always shown a serious interest in the supernatural aspect of my and my friends' existence. And it wasn't the surprise either...
The way she kissed me the first time. It was like she wanted to know I was real. And then she actively sought out others like me, as dangerous as that may have been.
But she was far away now, I had no idea where she lived but I could find out if I wanted to.
Part of me was fascinated by her actions though.
Did Hitori know what the book entailed?
"Eh, Hitori, did you get the chance to take a look at the book?"
He shook his head. "No, it was from some church wasn't it?"
I sighed. "Come, we'll sit down."
We all sat down on the sofa, me in between Hitori and Nuru, the latter hugging up to me sweetly. Nuru knew most of this already but she still liked to hear me explain it I guess.
"It all started when..." I giggled. "Sorry, I'll keep it more serious."
I took a deep breath. "There was a group researching supernatural phenomenon in early ages called the Silver Abbey. Well I'm not sure if that was their name always, but that is how we got to know them. They looked into vampirism and witchcraft and apparently didn't kill them, like most in that time, but were fascinated and studied them. In secret."
Hitori frowned. "Like a secret society?"
I shook my head. "More like humble scholars. They didn't want to interfere too much. Though I've read they did remove some of the more aggressive vampires from existence. The horrible thing is, though, that the Abbey burned and now there's a group of church fanatics that actively seeks out to kill all vampires. They're not too good at finding them though."
Nuru smiled. "But we did find it!"
"The Abbey, yes. There's a ruin out of town, where we found an entrance to an underground part. Where we found a book and some items that belonged to Witchcraft."
Hitori looked at me in disbelief. "Witchcraft is real as well?"
I looked at my hands. "I don't know. But considering my existence and the existence of that book..."
He nodded. "So Anka now has a book, probably teaching her about Witchcraft."
I nodded. "Though I'm not sure if there's anything in there. It might just be a collection of reports like the other book I found."
Nuru shook her head. "No, it wasn't like that. It was confiscated, not made by them."
"Why?"
She smiled proudly. "Well, it wasn't printed, for one, it looked like thin parchment with handwriting, bound together. The people there made proper books. And of course the lock on it was quite strange as well."
Hitori nodded in understanding. "So, it teaches about witchcraft. We have to warn Anka!"
"I don't know, I think she knew what she was taking."
Hitori looked at me, then to Nuru. "Did you see her taking it?"
Nuru looked at us guiltily. "No! I was probably sleeping when she took it!"
I put a hand on Nuru's shoulder. "It's alright Nuru, you're not responsible. Anka is a very clever girl."
Nuru nodded. "Thank you, Miss Amy."
I looked at the clock in Hitori's kitchen, it was still two hours to midnight. I felt a little calmer and wanted to enjoy it for now. Leaving the bracelet and the necklace on the table, I snuggled against Hitori and Nuru and smiled at both of them.
Then a simple thought came into my mind.
"Nuru?"
She looked up. "Yes?"
"Tell me a dream."
